Research Areas: Graph Theory, Database, and Operating Systems
Dr. Tian received his BS from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1982. He received his MS in computer science, and Ph.D. in Mathematics with Graph Theory and Computer Science concentration from the Western Michigan University in 1990. Dr. Tian joined the School of Computer Science and Mathematics as an assistant professor in 1990 and was promoted to full professor in 1998.
Dr. Tian's research interests include graph theory and graph algorithms. He has published many research papers including some that have appeared in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Tian also has interests in software and mobile application development.
Dr. Tian is a Fellow of Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications (ICA).
