Wu holds an M.S. in Safety with a minor in Environmental Science from Marshall University, and a Ph.D. specialized in Endocrinology from Virginia Tech. He has developed several NASA-funded research projects to investigate occupational health related to space environmental risk factors, and has published over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles. His research interest primarily focuses on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) related to environmental exposures, aging and obesity. Wu also holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARMTM) designation and a Lab Management University (LMU) certificate, and serves as a Program Evaluator (PEV) for the ABET and a Voting Member of Research Safety & Biosafety Subcommittees at the Huntington Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
