The University of Central Missouri (UCM) seeks to foster a safe and healthy environment built on mutual respect, equity, and trust and is committed to affording equal opportunity in employment and education. UCM believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience our educational environment and University activities free from sexual misconduct, discrimination, or harassment.

Please note:  If the report filed involves allegations of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct, the UCM's Sexual Misconduct Grievance Process will be followed.

What UCM is Doing to Prevent Discrimination

Title IX / Sex Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct at UCM 

Sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual violence, and other forms of sexual misconduct will not be tolerated. The University prohibits discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic, including sex, pregnancy, gender identity, gender expression, and gender (non)conformity.

Other Forms of Discrimination

The University of Central Missouri is committed to addressing and eliminating prohibited discrimination and harassment.  All university administrators, faculty, staff and students are expected to follow policies and are encouraged to support anti-discrimination activities.  University employees complete annual training related to this subject matter.

Discrimination:  Any unfair treatment based on age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, handicap/disability or genetic information as it relates to employment, education, or public accommodation may be considered discrimination

Harassment:  Occurs through unwelcome verbal, nonverbal or physical conduct based on age, race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, handicap/disability or genetic information that has the purpose or effect of creating a hostile campus environment.
