Institute of Behavioral Health

Mission Statement for the Institute of Behavioral Health

“Child and Family Development program established the Institute of Behavioral Health for the purpose of attracting outside funding for research and consulting. The goal of the institute will be to identify, develop, evaluate, and promote new ideas for prevention and treatment of behavioral disorders. This will be accomplished through an integrated effort with partner agencies and other community stakeholders involved in the implementation of prevention and treatment services. The Institute aims to become the center for research and a resource to health and human service agencies. This initiative will: a) enable faculty to seek external funding for research to develop, evaluate and promote new approaches for prevention and treatment; b) students will benefit with continuous engagement in research and practice through assistantships and develop relationships with potential employers; and, c) the program will be in constant collaboration with health and human service agencies and institutionalize these collaborative relationships of mutual benefit.

We look forward to your advice and support for this new initiate of the Child and Family Development program."
