All Academic Scholarship Recipients!  Remember you must COMPLETE 12 credit hours each semester to earn that Scholarship

All students who are recipients of the following UCM academic scholarships*, regardless of when they started at UCM, must earn a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester to earn that scholarship for that semester, or all (or a portion) will be removed from the student’s account for that semester:

  1. All Red & Black Scholarships,
  2. All Transfer Scholarships, including, but not limited to,
    1. President’s Distinguished,
    2. President’s,
    3. Dean’s

*Dual Credit, Phi Theta Kappa, and A+ Recognition are not included in this requirement.

These will be checked for full-time status throughout the Fall and Spring semesters.  Any student NOT enrolled in at least 12 credit hours by the end of each term will have all or a portion of their scholarship withdrawn from his/her student account.

The scholarship will remain in place for subsequent semesters as long as the student maintains the minimum requirements for Full Time status and GPA.

Examples

  1. If a student begins the Fall semester in 12 hours, but then drops a class to 9 hours, that student will have all or a portion of  the scholarship removed from their account for that semester.  It will be available to the student for the Spring semester, as it always has (unless the student fails to have the minimum 12 credit hours in the Spring).
  2. If a student completes 12 credit hours in the Fall, even if there are “Fs”, that scholarship will not be removed for that semester as the student completed the required minimum.  However, if the minimum GPA for that scholarship is not met, then the student would be in danger of losing the scholarship renewal for the following year.

*There is no appeal process: please ensure you are enrolled in, and complete, at least 12 credit hours each semester.
