Degree Programs

 

Undergraduate Programs

 

Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education (BSE)

The Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education degree certifies graduates to teach specific content areas in grades five through nine and, for selected minors, in grades pre-kindergarten through nine.

 

Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education (BS)

Our BS in Occupational Education is the only statewide approved undergraduate degree designed to make the transition from industry into education. This program is works with prior industry experience and formal education.

 

Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (BSE)

Agriculture Teacher Education Option (E328)

Students combine an interest in agriculture with the aspect of teaching and helping prepare the next generation is this important field.

 

Business Teacher Education Option (E270)

The BTE program seeks to prepare outstanding business teachers who are caring professionals, knowledgeable of business disciplines, and skilled with emerging technologies.

 

Engineering & Technology Teacher Education Option (E282)

Our ETTE program prepares students to teach pre-engineering and career exploration as well as traditional areas of communication, construction, manufacturing, and transportation in a laboratory setting using modern technological tools and methods. 

 

Family Consumer Sciences Teacher Education Option (E572)

The FCSE program is designed to prepare students to be professional educators in human development, family studies, nutrition, food preparation, consumerism, and fashion merchandising.

 

 

Graduate Programs

 

Human Services / Technology and Occupational Education (EdS)

The EdS provides research and leadership experiences through courses and research opportunities tailored to the candidate’s career goals and interests.

 

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

The MAT offers three options to meet the needs of industry professionals seeking certification and educators seeking further education within their content areas.

 

Literacy Education (MSE)

The MSE in Literacy Education pepares students to serve as literacy coaches, reading teachers, and/or literacy specialists.

 

Curriculum & Instruction (MSE)

This MSE offers three distinct options to provide the skills, techniques, and dispositions that ensure quality teaching and a positive impact on student learning.

 

Career and Technical Education Leadership (MS)

The MS in CTE offers three options to meet the needs of career and technical education stakeholders: teaching leadership, administrative leadership, and industry training leadership.

 

 

Other Programs

 

Career & Technical Education (Undergraduate)

This 18 credit hour certificate program is designed to guide new CTE teachers in completing the DESE required program of study for CTE educators.

 

CTE Administration Leadership (Graduate)

This graduate level certificate program empowers graduates to be leaders in education, industry, and society.

 

Department Minors

In addition to our degree programs, we also offer three minors within specific content areas:
