WARRENSBURG, MO – The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri
and the Warrensburg Ministerial Association will host the Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr. Community Praise and Worship Service at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, in the Alumni
Memorial Chapel on the UCM campus.
The event is part of UCM’s 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, combining
the traditional ecumenical worship service and the gospel concert that have long been
a part of the combined campus and community event.
The Rev. Terrence Moody of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will serve as master
of ceremonies, with UCM Instructor Albion Mends, Jr. as the featured speaker. Entertainment
will be provided by the Jesus Saves Faithful Praize Mime Dancers.
Special music will be presented by soloists Perry Foster III of Shiloh Missionary
Baptist Church and Jeff Imboden, Conner Cummings and Max Ridenhour of the First United
Methodist Church.
The Warrensburg Ministerial Association will also present its MLK Scholarship. Established
in 2011 by the Warrensburg Ministerial Association, the scholarship is presented to
a graduating Warrensburg High School senior.
The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
