WARRENSBURG, MO – With 29 years of facilities operations and services management leadership
experience, Timothy Castilaw, Concord, N.C., has been named Associate Vice President,
Capital Planning and Facilities Management (AVP CPFM), a new position at the University
of Central Missouri. Castilaw, who has has served since January 2012 as District Operations
Manager, Facilities Services, Sodexo Universities Facilities Services, Gaithersburg,
Md., begins his new duties at UCM on Monday, May 8.
In his new position, Castilaw will report to the university’s Chief Financial Officer
and will be responsible for directing and coordinating daily operations and developing
plans for all campus facilities to support the university’s academic and service mission.
Other duties include professional design development, construction, renovation of
campus facilities and maintenance. He also will act as agent for the university when
coordinating work of internal facilities, planning offices and external contractors,
and play an important role in maintaining and establishing policies and procedures
related to capital planning and maintenance.
Castilaw will be the executive leader for more than 200 facilities positions, and
responsible for the operating budget which includes the university’s deferred maintenance
program. He will support change at the institutional level while looking for opportunities
to improve operations within Facilities, Planning and Operations.
He is leaving a job with Sodexo that has included providing operational leadership
for six colleges and universities in a four-state region. Prior to this post, Castilaw
served from August 2009 to January 2012 as Executive Director of Facilities and School
Services for the Fort Bend Independent School District in Sugar Land, Texas, where
he led three major departments within the Auxiliary Services Division. Other experiences
include South Central Region District Manager of Facilities Services for Aramark Education
Facility Services in Coppell, Texas, October 2008 to August 2009, and Senior Facilities
Operations Manager for Aramark, May 1987 to September 2007. He also served as Director
of Facility Services, Innovative Solutions for Education/Plano, Texas Independent
School District, September 2007 to October 2008.
Castilaw’s college education took place in Texas and includes an Associates of Applied
Science in Drafting Technology degree from Lamar University, Beaumont; Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration degree, Southwestern Assemblies of God University,
Waxahachie; Master of Business Administration in Strategic leadership degree, and
Master of Science in Human Resources and Training degree, both from Amberton University,
Garland.
