The University of Central Missouri has a rich history of journalism dating back to 1878 and continuing today. The student press is still very active on campus but looks vastly different from the early days of broadsheet newspapers large enough to cover a kitchen table. Our look and methods have evolved in tandem with new tools and technology necessary to deliver the news and remain relevant and interesting in a digital age. However, our mission of helping to educate, inform and engage the campus community has not changed.
The newsroom is located in Wood 312 and can be reached at 660-543-4050 or by fax at 543-8663. To contact an editor, send emails to: muleskinner@ucmo.edu. To advertise, send emails to: muleskinnerads@ucmo.edu or call 660-543-4051.
Matt Bird-Meyer is the adviser and can be reached at: bird-meyer@ucmo.edu or 543-4430.
The Muleskinner is both a digital and print newspaper, accessed through our student publication portal called digitalburg.com. This site also incorporates two other student-produced media channels: UCM Radio-The Beat and Central-TV.
Regarding the Muleskinner, there are many different ways you can get involved:.
