Performing Arts at UCM

About Performing Arts Series

The Performing Arts Series at UCM has been the premier cultural venue in the region for over 28 years, providing a wide variety of fine and performing arts programs to UCM students, faculty and staff as well as K-12 students and the regional community.  Presentations include dance, theatre, music and visual arts as well as interdisciplinary performances.  At least 75% of each season’s schedule includes artist residencies, K-12 school matinees and student masterclasses and workshops.

The motto Enhancing Education Through The Arts is realized through our Arts Education Outreach Program, serving thousands of UCM and K-12 students every year.  The Series receives tremendous financial support and sponsorship from local businesses and private donors and has been awarded grants for each of the last 9 years from the Missouri Arts Council, Mid-America Arts Alliance and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Series routinely partners with and presents programs for the UCM Departments of Music, Theatre & Dance and Art & Design, and has collaborated in the past with many other UCM Departments, including Campus Activities, Broadcasting Services, Center for Teaching & Learning, Agriculture, and Chemistry & Physics.  Joint outreach efforts with local community groups have included the Warrensburg Arts Commission, the Johnson County Historical Society, Center Stage Performing Arts Academy, local churches and over 50 school districts.
