Nutrition Minor

A New Opportunity!

The Nutrition/Dietetics Program in the School of Nutrition, Kinesiology and Psychological Science offers a Minor in Nutrition. As we close out our current B.S. Dietetics program and address the change in The Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) entry-level eligibility requirement for dietitians, the Nutrition Minor will provide a pathway to undergraduate students majoring in Nutrition/Dietetics or other disciplines to apply to the Master of Science in Nutrition Program at UCM.

A pathway to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)

According to the new guidelines put forth by the CDR, by 2024, nutrition students must have a master’s degree to gain eligibility to take the national exam to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN). The Nutrition Minor at UCM gives undergraduate students majoring in other areas, such as Biology, Health Studies, Kinesiology, an opportunity to apply for the Master of Science in Nutrition. The Clinical Nutrition option in our graduate program, also known as the Future Education Model (FEM), allows for course work and supervised experiential learning (SEL) which, upon completion, will make students eligible to sit for the national exam that provides the RDN credential.

Nutrition Minor-Option 1
