

The University of Central Missouri Clinical Medical Assistant PLUS certificate program prepares students for a dynamic and in-demand career supporting physicians in clinical settings. Clinical Medical Assistants (CMAs) perform essential tasks such as preparing patients for exams, administering medications, conducting routine lab work, and supporting diagnostic testing and phlebotomy procedures. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for medical assistants was $44,200 in 2024, with projected job growth of 15% from 2023 to 2033.

Start Dec. 8th, meets Mondays and Wednesdays and several Saturdays. Evening time is 6-9 pm at STC Lee's Summit campus.

Students will participate in a holistic learning program that strengthens their ability to apply the related knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform at a high level in life and on-the-job. In addition to Industry and Technical Competencies, the curriculum effectively addresses the Personal Effectiveness, Academic and Workplace Competencies (Tiers 1-3) of the DOL-ETA Competency Model Pyramid.
Note Upon successful completion of this program, students would be eligible to sit for
the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
national examination, the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy
Tech (CPT) exam and the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified EKG Technician
(CET).
