Julie Hentges

With more than ten years at UCM, Dr. Julie Hentges is instrumental in preparing future teachers. She earned her Doctorate in Education from Walden University with an emphasis on teacher education. As a certified elementary teacher and K-12 reading specialist, she brings her passion for literacy into the classroom. She has presented on instructional strategies at numerous regional, state, national, and international conferences. She has received honors for her dedication to student achievement from, Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) International Education Honor Society Excellence in Education Award, Missouri Learning Forward Professional Learning Leadership Award, University of Central Missouri (UCM), Learning to a Greater Degree Award Recipient, UCM Advisor of the Year, and UCM College of Education Excellence in Teaching Award.
