TRIO TEACH is a federally funded program dedicated to supporting undergraduate pre-service teachers throughout their academic journey. The program provides personalized resources, mentorship, and guidance designed to help future educators navigate challenges, build confidence, and achieve success in their preparation programs. Through a strong network of support, TRIO TEACH empowers aspiring teachers to persist, thrive, and enter the profession ready to make a meaningful impact.

TRIO TEACH Teacher Mentors are experienced P–12 educators who partner with pre-service teachers to provide meaningful, real-world support throughout their early preparation. Each participant is paired with a mentor in their intended grade level or content area, creating opportunities to step into authentic classroom environments, observe effective teaching practices, and build confidence through guided experience.
Through regular classroom visits, relationship-building, and ongoing encouragement, TRIO TEACH Teacher Mentors help bridge the gap between theory and practice—supporting students as they develop their professional identity and readiness for the classroom. This mentorship experience not only strengthens instructional skills, but also fosters a sense of belonging, purpose, and connection to the teaching profession.
