Membership Eligibility, Costs and Rules

Eligibility

Membership at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center is open to all UCM students, faculty, staff, alumni, retirees and household members at varying rates. 

All SRWC members are eligible to bring guests at the daily guest fee of $5. Members must accompany their guests to purchase a guest pass at the front desk. Children of staff/faculty and students do not have to purchase a guest pass.

 


Memberships

Everyone who is going to use the Rec Center must sign in at the front desk with their UCM ID.

If a patron does not have their physical or mobile ID, they must provide their ID number along with another form of identification to the front desk worker. 

Student

  • All undergraduate and graduate students of UCM who are enrolled in classes receive free access to the SRWC by presenting their UCM ID. 

  • Spouses/partners of students are able to use the SRWC for free after completion of a Spouse/Partner Membership form, which can be filled out at the front desk of SRWC.  *Both must be present to fill out a form.*

  • Students who want to sit out for a semester are able to purchase an off-term student membership ($28 a semester).

Faculty

  • Eligible Faculty/Staff receive free access to the SRWC.

  • For those who want their spouse to be able to work out at the SRWC, there are Spouse/Partner Memberships which can be filled out and paid for at the front desk ($10 per month). *Both must be present to fill out a form*

 

 

Retiree

  • Eligible retirees receive free access to the SRWC. 

  • Spouses/partners of retirees are able to use the SRWC for free after completion of a Spouse/Partner Membership form, which can be filled out at the front desk of SRWC.  *Both must be present to fill out a form*

 

Alumni

  • Alumni must purchase a membership at the front desk ($10 per month).

  • For those who want their spouse to be able to work out at the SRWC, there are Spouse/Partner Memberships which can be filled out and paid for at the front desk ($10 per month). *Both must be present to fill out a form*

Unique Memberships

Any Warrensburg community member who is not associated with the University is eligible to purchase one of the below memberships. Please note, these memberships only allow access to the specific activity for which they are purchased and do not grant access to the entire facility.

Facility Rules

  • All individuals must check in at the front desk. 
  • If a patron does not have their physical or mobile ID, they must provide their ID number along with another form of identification to the front desk worker.
  • Individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the rec center unless accompanied by an adult. 
  • All individuals work out at their own risk.
  • Personal music must be played through headphones only.
  • Only supervisors are responsible for setting up and taking down stationary nets, such as those used for volleyball and badminton.
  • If groups or individuals want reserved space they need to go through Meeting & Conference Services, 660-543-4342
  • We encourage you to place personal items in lockers. Neither UCM nor the SRWC Staff is responsible for lost or stolen articles.
  • Wipe down equipment with wipes provided at each station.
  • Return all weight plates to proper pegs on rack and weight trees.
  • Return all dumbbells to proper slots on racks.
  • Return all Olympic bars to platforms, rack and bench standards.
  • Return all collars to platforms, racks and benches.
  • Refrain from resting weights against benches, walls, mirrors, or on the floor.
  • Horseplay, swearing, grunting and loud noises are distracting to others and will not be tolerated.
  • Food, gum, and tobacco products are not allowed.
  • Return all collars to platforms, racks and benches.
  • Please report any damaged or broken equipment to SRWC Staff.
  • Refrain from resting weights against benches, walls, mirrors, or on the floor.
  • Horseplay, swearing, grunting and loud noises are distracting to others and will not be tolerated.
  • Food, gum, and tobacco products are not allowed.
  • Individuals under the influence of alcohol will be asked to leave the SRWC.
  • Please observe proper spotting procedures and lifting techniques. Do not drop weights on the floor.
  • Collars are provided and required on all free weight exercises.
  • Please limit your workout to one station.
  • Equipment must never be employed for anything other than its intended use.
  • Repeated offenses may result in loss of SRWC Privileges

Walking/Jogging Track Rules

 

  • Walkers should stay on the inside lane. Joggers should use the outside lanes.
  • Walk/Jog in counterclockwise direction on Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri and clockwise on Tue/Thu/Sat.
  • 11 laps equal 1 mile.
  • Track spikes are NOT permitted.
  • Slower walkers and runners should move to the inside to allow faster runners to pass. It is courteous to tell a slower walker or runner when you are passing as it avoids unnecessary confusion and collisions.
  • Users not familiar with the operation of the exercise equipment should seek assistance from staff.
  • Do not spit on floors, walls, or in the water fountains.
  • Skateboards, in-line skates, and strollers are not permitted on the track.
  • Repeated offenses may result in loss of SRWC Privileges
