Mentorship Program

Successful Transitions to College

The Mentorship Program will connect you with an upper-class or graduate student mentor, or in some cases a faculty or staff person. We’ll help you adjust to college life, learn the campus culture, and get involved in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Mentors meet one-on-one with you to serve as a role model and support system, and will help you get connected to campus resources including:

  • Financial aid

  • Scholarship opportunities

  • Academic advising

  • Academic enrichment programs

  • Athletic events

  • Campus activities

  • Student organizations

  • University housing

  • Employment opportunities on campus

Why Should I Be a Mentor?

Mentors:
     • Assist new students in transition from high school to UCM
     • Are a trusted source of guidance and informed support
