Professional Bio


Ann Powell-Brown has taught at UCM for fifteen years. Dr. Powell-Brown taught children and supervised teachers in urban schools for many years before she began her career at the University of Central Missouri. She has also lived and taught in Asia. During her first year of teaching, Dr. Powell-Brown was among the teachers who integrated the faculty of the last segregated elementary school in Biloxi, Mississippi. She earned Missouri state certifications in elementary education, reading, special education and gifted education.
