To apply for admission to a master’s degree program at UCM you must have a bachelor’s degree. To apply to an Education Specialist’s degree program you must have a master’s degree. Prerequisite degrees must be from institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the University of Central Missouri.
Department Admission Requirements
Some graduate programs at UCM require standardized tests, such as the GRE or GMAT, and some require a minimum GPA, letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose and/or other materials. To learn more about requirements for your specific program, please review the Graduate Catalog. For specific program questions, please contact the designated graduate coordinator for your area of study.

Step 1: Complete the graduate admissions application.
Complete and submit the admissions application and pay the non-refundable $30 application fee.
If you’re returning to Graduate Studies at UCM after a year or more and have not been awarded your graduate degree, you must complete a new application, however, you do not have to pay the application fee for readmission.
Step 2: Send official transcripts.
Request that all official transcripts of work completed at other colleges or universities be sent to:

When all of your materials are received, the Graduate and International Student Services (GISS) office will conduct an initial evaluation. If your application meets the requirements for admission, your application will be forwarded to the department you designate for consideration and recommendation. The department will then determine whether or not to accept you into the program. You will receive notification regarding your acceptance into a degree program once the department has made a decision.
