The University of Central Missouri's Financial Literacy Center is a valuable campus resource dedicated to helping students build the knowledge and skills they need to make informed financial decisions. Staffed by trained student coaches under the supervision of Amanda Bradbury, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), the center offers personalized support in areas such as budgeting, optimizing financial aid, and addressing unmet financial needs. Whether students are looking to better understand their spending habits or need help managing college-related expenses, the center is equipped to provide practical guidance tailored to each individual's situation.
In addition to offering advice on day-to-day money management, the Financial Literacy Center supports students in navigating more complex financial topics. Coaches can assist in selecting and using credit cards wisely, managing credit card debt, and understanding the broader implications of credit. They also serve as helpful liaisons between students and UCM’s financial aid and student accounts offices, ensuring that students can effectively communicate and resolve financial questions or concerns. Through these services, the center empowers students to take control of their finances and succeed both during and after their time at UCM.
