Dr. Popejoy is Professor of Business Law at the University of Central Missouri. He has previously taught at the University in the areas of management, human resource management, and accountancy. During his years at the University, he has served as Chair of the School of Business Administration, Coordinator of the School of Accountancy, Coordinator of the Human Resource Management program, and is currently Coordinator of the Business Law program and Director of Pre-Law Studies for the University.
Additionally, his areas of research include national employment law policy, U.S. Supreme Court history, and he is one of the leading researchers in the country in the field of right-to-work laws. Dr. Popejoy also has been recognized as one of the outstanding case writers in the country, having won a national case-writing award from the Society for Case Research.
In between teaching stints at UCM over the past forty years, Dr. Popejoy has worked for national firms such as AT&T, Big Four accounting firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and has directed the Kansas City office of the RSM McGladrey Network, at the time the tenth largest accounting firm in Kansas City.
