UCM Performing Arts Faculty Take Center Stage Aug. 28 for the Provost’s Faculty Showcase

The creative energies of faculty members in areas such as music, theatre, dance and art come together for the Provost's Faculty Showcase.


WARRENSBURG, MO – Highlighting the diverse, talented faculty members who serve the University of Central Missouri, performing artists representing the UCM academic areas of Music, Theatre and Dance return to Hart Recital Hall for their annual season opener, the Provost’s Faculty Showcase, at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28. Everyone who is interested is invited to join them as they kick off the new academic year and the 2023-24 Music Season with this signature event. Before attending the concert in the Utt Music Building, members of the campus and community are invited to a pre-concert reception at 5:30 p.m. at the UCM Art Center Gallery.

Listed with the academic area they represent, Provost’s Faculty Showcase performers include Jeff Kaiser and Eric Honour (Music Technology); Christina Burton, Aaron Scully, and Ashley Miller-Scully (Theatre and Dance); Elisabeth Stimpert, Kristina Fulton, Roger Oyster, TK DeWitt, David Sullivan, and Alan Wenger (Winds and Brass); Mia Kim and Albert Kim (Piano); Tom Pender (Guitar); and Stella Dayrit Roden and Jacob Sentgeorge (Voice).

A wide variety of pieces will be presented. Bringing many of the performers together, the program concludes with “It’s Sandy at the Beach” performed by music faculty David Aaberg, James Isaac, Alex Smith, Tom Pender, and John Check, with dance choreography by Christina Burton and Ashley Miller-Scully.
