Thousands of people attended the 2024 Get the Red Out street fair at the University
of Central Missouri.
The 2025 event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11.
The community is invited to celebrate with the University of Central Missouri (UCM)
as it hosts the annual family-friendly Get the Red Out street fair from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.
In a longstanding tradition for the UCM and Warrensburg communities, thousands of
people are expected to attend Get the Red Out as they show their UCM spirit ahead
of the Mules Football team’s first home game of the season. The free event will take place on Holden Street
between South and Clark streets on the west side of campus.
Festivities include games for kids, such as hoop shooting with the Mules and Jennies
basketball teams, and dozens of local organizations and vendors, including food trucks.
Get the Red Out also features a performance by the UCM Drumline and special appearances
by Mo the Mule, the university’s live mule mascot and UCM’s Mulekickers and cheerleaders.
UCM Athletics will also be in attendance to kick off the Mule Fan Zone for the new season, which will feature live music, inflatables for kids, community
booths and more in the grassy area near the stadium on the west side of Holden Street.
Before each home game during the rest of the Mules Football season, the Mule Fan Zone
will be in Parking Lot S41, to the west of Walton Stadium just across the street near
the bronze mule statue. The event is free and open to all fans.
After attending Get the Red Out, everyone is encouraged to cheer on the Mules as they
take on the Colorado State-Pueblo Thunderwolves at 7 p.m. at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.
Tickets are available at ucmathletics.com/tickets. Fans can also enjoy a postgame fireworks display, lighting up the sky over UCM for the first time in recent history.
The street fair is open to area businesses, nonprofit organizations, student organizations
and others. The event is a great way to get information into the hands of students,
faculty, staff and community members. While registration is full, vendors can join
a waitlist.
Anyone with questions prior to the day of the event should contact the UCM Office of Integrated Marketing and Communications at 660-543-4640 or email jtart@ucmo.edu. For the most updated information on Get
the Red Out, visit ucmo.edu/gtro.
Visitors should be aware of ongoing road construction along South Maguire Street as
part of the City of Warrensburg’s Rethink Maguire project. Weekly updates and road
closure information can be found at rethinkmaguire.com.
