Plain White T’s will perform on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the University of Central Missouri.
The University of Central Missouri’s (UCM) annual Family Weekend festivities will include a performance from pop rock band Plain White T’s on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Selmo Park.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. Music from Noah Richardson is set to begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by Plain White T’s. The concert is free and
open to the public. Tickets are not required. UCM will provide chairs for the show,
but attendees are also encouraged to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs.
Formed in 1997, the Plain White T’s lineup features Tom Higgenson (vocals), Tim Lopez (lead guitar, vocals), Mike Retondo
(bass) and De'Mar Hamilton (drums). The band has attracted an enthusiastic global
fan base over nine full-length albums and countless sold-out shows.
The Chicago quartet has amassed more than 2.7 billion total global streams, earned
two GRAMMY nominations and collected several Platinum-plus and Gold certifications
across their impressive catalog. They dropped back-to-back gold-certified albums —
“All That We Needed” (2005) and “Every Second Counts” (2006) — and entertained audiences
with timeless hits, including the platinum "Rhythm of Love," double-platinum “1,2,3,4”
and quadruple-platinum "Hey There Delilah."
Their signature single, "Hey There Delilah," also topped the Billboard Hot 100 and
earned a pair of GRAMMY nominations in 2008 for "Song of the Year" and "Best Pop Performance
by a Duo or Group with Vocal."
Noah Richardson is a singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia and a rising star in the alt-pop scene.
Named a “Next Artist to Watch” by Unclear Magazine, his 2023 single, “Tangerine,”
has surpassed 14 million streams on Spotify. Richardson’s sophomore EP, “It’s So Good
To See You,” releases on Sept. 26, the day before his UCM performance.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be in the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics
Center.
