Criminal Justice Team Captures 20th Consecutive National ACJA-LAE Title

While finding a place to display 19 new trophies may pose a small problem for an award-winning program, it is a welcome challenge for the University of Central Missouri’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. This shiny new hardware comes after a team of students and faculty members captured UCM’s 20th consecutive Sweepstakes Award at the American Criminal Justice Association-Lambda Alpha Epsilon (ACJA-LAE) National Conference Competition.

Carson First at UCM to Receive NIJ Grant: Will Pursue Study Contributing to Better Understanding of Left-Wing and Environmental Terrorism in U.S.

The principal investigator of a research project designed to develop data sources that could potentially inform law enforcement policy and counterterrorism efforts, Jennifer Carson, Ph.D., professor of criminology and criminal justice at the University of Central Missouri, has been awarded a $506,497 grant from the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). This three-year financial award includes collaboration with faculty members at three other institutions in the United States and abroad.
