MDC, Missouri Prairie Foundation & Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation initiate new internship program with UCM & SFCC

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), Missouri Prairie Foundation (MPF) and the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) have created a new internship program for students from State Fair Community College (SFCC) and the University of Central Missouri (UCM). The internship will begin in summer 2026 with applications opening in January.

The University of Central Missouri’s (UCM) Board of Governors met Aug. 21 in Warrensburg to take action on several initiatives impacting students, employees, and the broader community and celebrate major philanthropic support. The meeting was followed by the board’s annual retreat, where university leaders provided reports on enrollment, athletics, alumni engagement, and fundraising.

UCM Graduate Chip Lee Selected as Fulbright Student to Serve in Laos

Chitpasong “Chip” Lee, a recent University of Central Missouri (UCM) graduate, has been selected as a Fulbright Student for the 2024-25 academic year. Lee will participate in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program’s English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program in Laos, where she will spend 11 months assisting with English language instruction and engaging in cultural exchange.
