Building Community to Better Serve Students
The University of Central Missouri’s Human Resources team is reshaping workplace culture by listening to employees and responding with meaningful support, from providing cooling towels for outdoor staff to offering wellness programs, benefits fairs and professional development. These efforts helped UCM earn a 2025 Best of the ’Burg honor as Best Place to Work (25+ Employees), recognition which reflects UCM’s goal of creating a collaborative, people-first environment that supports employees and, in turn, strengthens the student experience.

UCM Junior from Sweet Springs Receives Top Student Employee Award
Donavan Hoyes, a junior accounting major from Sweet Springs, has received the top honor in an annual program that recognizes exemplary student employees at the University of Central Missouri. Hoyes received the Student Employee of the Year award in the ceremony conducted on April 8 by UCM’s Office of Human Resources.

UCM Special Education Major Honored as Student Employee of the Year
A University of Central Missouri student from Wesphalia, Missouri, has received the top honor in an annual program that recognizes exemplary student employees. The Student Employee of the Year awards ceremony was conducted by UCM’s Office of Human Resources on April 10, also recognizing two others students who placed in the top three, qualifying each of them to receive a trophy, certificate, and a sponsored financial award.
