Skilled trades instructors across North America will have new pathways to earn college credentials and strengthen their teaching skills through a multiyear partnership among the University of Central Missouri (UCM), North Central Missouri College (NCMC) and the Carpenters International Training Fund (CITF).

Teachers Become Students Again Through Hands-On STEM Partnership at UCM's Missouri Innovation Campus

On a sunny Monday morning, July 6, lab goggles replaced lesson plans as science teachers measured chemicals, recorded temperature changes and discussed classroom strategies in a chemistry lab at University of Central Missouri’s (UCM) Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee's Summit. The teachers were not preparing for an exam. They were preparing for a new school year.

Knight, Stringer Recognized With Top Staff Awards at UCM

The University of Central Missouri (UCM) has recognized two staff members for their dedication and service to the university. Carol Knight received the 2026 J.P. Mees Award for Outstanding Professional Staff, and Heather Stringer received the Outstanding Staff Award.
