By Mike Greife, September 20, 2016

WARRENSBURG, MO – The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri kicks off a full season of music, dance, theatre and the visual and multi-media arts for the campus and community with the opening of the Central Tickets box office at UCM.

The new 2016-17 season, titled “A Season To Share,” showcases an unprecedented variety and mix of talent with world-class performances by UCM and internationally renowned artists. The fall lineup includes the national tour of the a cappella group Vocalosity, the unique film and sound experience of the Alloy Orchestra, the world-famous Navy Commodores Jazz Band, and the virtuosity of harpist Bridget Kibbey.

The spring schedule brings the multi-talented trombone quartet Maniacal 4 to campus, as well as classical guitarist Zane Forshee and violinist Eric Halen. Many of these guest artists will also be participating in campus residencies consisting of masterclasses, workshops, lectures and question and answer sessions with students and the public, culminating in an enriched concert experience.

The PAS season continues to present the many talents of the students and faculty of the Departments of Music, Theatre and Dance and Art and Design with event favorites like the Provost’s Faculty Showcase, the Masterworks Concert, the UCM Opera Theatre and the President’s Gala.

Special events include the MLK Community Praise and Worship Concert, the Show Me Justice Film Festival  and “Caesar: X,” a special two-night presentation of William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” and Marcus Gardley’s “X,” produced by New York’s The Acting Company.
