WARRENSBURG, MO – Filling a crucial role at the University of Central Missouri, Danelle
Kaye Cord, Jefferson City, has been named Associate General Counsel/Director of Accessibility Services. She begins her new role Sept. 10.
Cord has served as Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs Attorney for The Missouri
Bar since March 2015. In her new position at UCM, she handles attorney responsibilities
that are primarily focused on policy work, training, and committee involvement, such
as advising the university’s Care Team. She also serves as the university’s ADA Coordinator.
Her primary responsibilities include the administration of the activities in the Office
of Accessibility Services (OAS), providing equal access to university opportunities
for students, visitors, and other individuals with disabilities, including physical
access to the campus, appropriate academic accommodations, accessible technology including
website, and other accommodations. Her job includes serving as the deaf services coordinator.
Cord assumes OAS responsibilities that were handled by Barbara Mayfield, who retired
in May as director emerita of accessibility services after serving the university
for 23 years. Restructuring on campus has moved this position from within the Division
of Student Experience and Engagement to the Office of General Counsel, which is overseen
by Lindsay Chapman,

UCM as the exemplar of a welcoming and inclusive campus,” Chapman said.
She added that she is “thankful to Cathy Seeley and the OAS and Student Experience
and Engagement staff for their dedication and hard work during the transition and
always.”
In her role a CLE Programs attorney, Cord has developed legal education programs throughoutthe
state. While practicing law, she has gained higher education experience as an adjunct
instructor in Legal Research at William Woods University in Fulton, and as an adjunct
instructor in Family Law, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Psychology and English at
Brown Mackie College in St. Louis.
Her professional experience also includes service between June 2011 to March 2015
in Jefferson City as legal counsel for the 19th Circuit Juvenile Court; partner and
attorney for Musick & Cord, LLP; attorney for Samaritan Center; and child support
hearing officer/quality assurance for YoungWilliams Child Support Services.
Her educational background includes a Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School
of Law-Indianapolis, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hanover College in Indiana.
