WARRENSBURG, MO – As the University of Central Missouri prepares for the 2022 Homecoming celebration, campus and community groups and individuals are invited to submit their entries for participation in the parade at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 in Warrensburg. Registration can be completed online and those who wish to sign-up should do so by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, via the Office of Student Activities.

A rich tradition, the parade is the largest UCM-community event of the year, and is part of a week-long array of Homecoming activities Oct. 10-15. The parade gives participants an opportunity to show their support for the university and the Mules football team as they prepare for their game against the Missouri Southern State University Lions at 1:30 p.m. at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.

This year’s Homecoming theme is University of Central Missouri Feeling ’22. The university encourages anyone who enters the parade to incorporate this theme into their entries. As in previous years, the event will feature marching bands, floats, walking entries, vintage motor vehicles, equestrian units and more. The parade route runs north on Holden Street through campus toward the downtown area, then turns right and east onto Gay Street until reaching College Street. It travels south until reaching South Street, directly on the north side of the university campus.

In addition to the parade and football game, during Homecoming week students will join in activities such as window decorating and the Royalty competition, while thousands of alumni will return to their alma mater to participate in weekend events coordinated by the UCM Alumni Foundation . This includes 25- and 50-year class reunions, the MuleNation Open House, Distinguished Alumni Dinner, and Party in the Park, an event that begins prior to the parade.

Individuals who have questions about the parade should contact Student Activities, Elliott Student Union 217, at 660-543-4007. To learn more about other Homecoming events, visit the  UCM Alumni-Foundation Homecoming website.
