                           The UCM Gallery of Art & Design in partnership with Guest Curator, Scott Barton, presents
                              an exhibition of contemporary design. This unique exhibition will showcase works of
                              design that exemplify Barton’s philosophy of integrated design. Barton will moderate
                              a panel discussion with the artists of By Design on January 22 at 4:00 p.m. in Wood
                              100. The talk will also be available virtually by livestream over Zoom. The public
                              is invited to a reception on Jan 24 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm All events are free and open

Meet the artist reception, January 8, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
                           
                           Gary Staab is a self-taught artist who makes phenomenally lifelike models of the natural
                              world from the past and present. Staab’s scientific models can be seen in museums,
                              private collections, visitors’ centers, books, and film. Staab will give an artist
                              talk about his work on Jan at 8, 4:00 p.m. in Wood 100. The talk will also be available
                              virtually by livestream over Zoom. The public is invited to a reception to celebrate
                              the exhibition on Jan 8, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.

                           In honor of Black History Month, the UCM Gallery of Art & Design presents this exhibition
                              in partnership with Guest curator, Harold Smith. CONVERSATIONS includes artworks made
                              by African American artists working in a range of media including two-and three-dimensional
                              works. Smith will moderate a panel discussion with the artists of CONVERSATIONS on
                              February 12 at 4:00 p.m. in Wood 100. The discussion will also be available virtually
                              by livestream over Zoom. The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception
                              celebrating the exhibition on February 12, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. All events are free and

                           Each year in the Spring semester, the UCM Gallery of Art & Design asks students with
                              declared majors & minors in Art & Design to submit their best works of art for inclusion
                              in the Citation Show. An arts professional is selected to jury the exhibition, awarding
                              cash prizes to the top artworks across numerous categories. The public is invited
                              to attend the reception for this exhibition on March 28 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Awards
                              will be announced at 4 p.m. The awards ceremony will also be available to view virtually
                              over livestream. All events are free and open to the public.

                           The UCM High School Art Exhibition is a selection of outstanding artwork open to high
                              school students from a 150-mile radius of Warrensburg, MO. Students are allowed two
                              pieces of work and can enter any original drawing, painting (oil, acrylic, opaque
                              watercolor), mixed media, printmaking (serigraphy, relief, intaglio), fibers, design/graphics,
                              photography, ceramics or sculpture. Upper-level students can sign up for a day of
                              live art competition and workshops with UCM faculty and students at the annual High
                              School Art Contest Day. Both events are free and open to home-schooled, public and
                              private high school students.
                           
                           The public is invited to a reception March 16, 12:00 to 2:00 pm. All events are free

                           Each semester senior students preparing for graduation present an exhibition showcasing
                              a body of work that represents the culmination of their years of study at UCM Art
                              & Design. Exhibitions will be on view in the Art Center Galleries. The public is invited
                              to a reception on April 13 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. All events are free and open to

                           Annual Mid-Missouri Artists Annual Summer Exhibition

                           This annual exhibition will feature recent work by the Mid-Missouri Artists, a non-profit
                              organization serving artists and those interested in art in Johnson, Lafayette, Henry,
                              and Pettis counties. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, and fiber arts are
                              showcased in this popular community exhibition. All events are free and open to the
                              public.
