Darrion Walker

Dr. Darrion A. Walker joined the Office of General Counsel in 2025. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law (where he was inducted into the Order of Barristers for excellence in advocacy), a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas (emphasizing Legal Rhetoric and Political Communication), and a Bachelor of Science in Socio-Political Communication from Missouri State University. Before joining UCM, Dr. Walker taught at an R1 University, worked as trial consultant advising on intellectual property cases, and at different times served as an assistant prosecutor for two of the largest counties in Missouri and Kansas, respectively. As Associate General Counsel and Director of Contracts at UCM, his practice includes but is not limited to contracts and transactional work, compliance and policy guidance, employment and labor relations, student affairs, open records governance, and litigation management.
