House Party Guide

 Responsible Hosting

One of the most important things to know about hosting a house party is that as a host you are accountable for what happens at your party.  Underage drinking, illegal drug use, fights, property damage—a host can be held legally liable for all of these, even if he/she was not aware that it was happening at the time.  Planning ahead is the best way to decrease problems and your legal risk.

This guide was developed by the UCM Student Government Association, Greeks Advocating Mature Management of Alcohol, the Office of Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention, and the Campus Alcohol Board for use by all members of our Warrensburg community who are considering hosting a house party.

Please note:  we are not lawyers and this guide should not be taken as legal advice.
