With classrooms for numerous UCM and career certificate programs, plus UCM’s Center for Workforce and Professional Education, you can find everything you need to advance your career all under one roof.
The facility is home to UCM’s Center for Workforce and Professional Education and satellite offices for the Missouri Job Center, the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD) and the Full Employment Council (FEC). It is conveniently located for residents of Eastern Jackson County, Cass County and other areas surrounding the metro.

UCM's paraprofessional degree completion program is focused on removing obstacles to successful completion of a teaching degree or certification. Through our cohort model, you can earn your teaching degree in approximately three to four years without interrupting your professional and personal life.


At the University of Central Missouri’s Summit Technology Campus, the phlebotomy and medical training lab plays a central role in UCM’s Workforce and Professional Education offerings. Our Workforce team can help busy adults find certificate programs that fit their goals, schedules and budgets. Need help paying for that professional development course at the STC? The Center for Workforce and Professional Education can also connect you with one of our many community partners, such as Great Jobs KC and Community Service League, which provide scholarship opportunities to qualifying individuals.

Career AdvisingThe Missouri Job Center is open at the STC from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and offers free services for job seekers and employers. The staff can help if you are looking for a new career, ready to start your first job, or have lost your job. They also offer job-matching services, hiring and recruiting events, customized training assistance, and other business services for area companies. Representatives from the MDHEWD and the FEC are available at the STC from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. These organizations offer free services to adults and students, including daily workshops on how to successfully create a resume, job interview skill sessions and quarterly hiring fairs. The satellite office also offers monthly testing through WorkKeys, an assessment designed to help people determine their best choices for career success.
