Big Data and Business Analytics is a fast growing field with applications in business decision making, patient care, political decision making, criminal justice, IT security etc. just to name a few. Students with knowledge of big data and business analytics are highly sought after in the job market.
The Big Data and Business Analytics minor is designed for students with diverse majors that will allow them to have knowledge of this growing field, and apply it to their respective disciplines. They will learn the current tools for big data and analytics, and how to use these tools to create actionable intelligence that will result in optimum decision making in their respective fields of interest.
This twenty-one hour minor is designed to provide you skills and knowledge in the storage of large data sets and analytical techniques to extract new information from it. With the ability to capture large amounts of data from the “Internet of Things,” these skills are in high demand in business and non-business fields.
