Academic Enrichment

The Department of Academic Enrichment (AE) improves student academic success by helping underprepared students prepare, prepared students advance, and advanced students excel.

Most students find they need academic help from time to time. When this happens, we can help students develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills needed to:

  1. meet and exceed Central Missouri's academic standards and
  2. function successfully at UCM through courses designed to orient students to the university environment, college studies, and diversity.

We offer both credit courses--for elective credit (no fees except those regularly charged for credit courses) and non-credit services (free to any student enrolled at UCM). The department also houses two federally funded TRIO grants--the Student Support Services Program and the McNair Scholars Program.
