Kasey Lynch (she/her) is thrilled to join the faculty at UCM. She received both her PhD and MA in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Missouri and completed a BA in Communication Studies at Villanova University. Kasey is an actor, playwright, researcher, and director. Her recent direction of Abby Uphoff’s new play American Girl(s) received several national Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) recognitions including The Citizen Artist Award, The Facilitation of a Brave Rehearsal Space Award, and The Distinguished Production of a New Work Award. Other directing credits include Charlotte’s Web (2024), The Wolves (2023), and The Cat in the Hat (2022). Kasey has also championed new works for social change as the Managing Director of MU’s Life and Literature Series.
 
Some of Kasey’s recent performance credits include 9 to 5 (Judy Bernly), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), and The Revolutionists (Olympe de Gouges). She also writes autobiographical work and performed a scene from her KCACTF award-winning piece, “Body Stretch,” at the 2023 Region 5 festival. Her work at the intersections of feminisms, health, and theatre has been presented at conferences like NCA, ICQI, PSi, and ATHE, where she currently serves on the board of The Women and Theatre Program; Allied Feminist Coalition. Kasey loves to teach and greatly admires the heart and the talent her students continue to bring to her classrooms.
