Dr. Amanda Harrison started her time at UCM as an adjunct before moving to full time faculty in 2022. She earned her MA in Library Science from Emporia State University, a second MA in Teaching from Dominican University, a third MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and her PhD in Library and Information Science from Emporia State. She is an active member in multiple professional library organizations, including the Kansas Library Association (KLA), American Library Association (ALA), American Association of School Librarians (AASL), and the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE). She inspires future librarians through the instruction of Library Media Administration, Children's and Young Adult Literature, and courses on research. Dr. Harrison's own research interests include school libraries, global and cross-cultural library studies, professional identities in librarianship, and action research in school libraries.
