Dr. Nancy Forth

Dr. Forth's professional interests center on creativity and expressive arts in counseling and supervision, as well as counselor development. Originally from Illinois, she earned bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology and a Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University. She later completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Wyoming.

Dr. Forth is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with extensive clinical experience in counseling agencies and private practice, providing counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups. With more than 25 years of experience in counseling, counselor education, and clinical supervision, she brings a wealth of expertise to the University of Central Missouri's Counseling program.

Throughout her career, Dr. Forth has delivered numerous presentations at the state, regional, and national levels and has authored book chapters and articles in professional journals. As a professor, she teaches clinical counseling courses as well as courses in counseling foundations, career development, and counseling program management, emphasizing the integration of theory, research, and practical application.

Dr. Forth has been an active leader in the counseling profession through her involvement in local, state, regional, and national counseling organizations. She previously served as President of the American Counseling Association of Missouri and currently serves on the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Counselor Educators Advisory Committee, contributing to advancing counselor preparation and professional standards across the state.
