Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. René Burress earned her BS in Early Childhood Education from Saint Louis University and MS in Library Science from UCM. She also earned her EdS in Learning Resources from UCM. She completed her PhD in Library and Information Management from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. As the coordinator for the Library Science and Information Services program, Dr. Burress teaches multiple online graduate courses in Foundations, Curriculum, Practicum, and Children's Literature. An experienced school librarian and classroom educator, her research interests are in how school librarians impact student learning. Her hobbies include singing and spending time with her family.
