Accountancy

UCM’s B.S. in Accountancy prepares students for the Uniform CPA Examination and is designed to meet the educational requirements for CPA licensure in Missouri.

Effective Aug. 28, 2026, Missouri offers multiple pathways to CPA licensure, including a pathway for candidates who earn a bachelor’s degree with the required accounting coursework. UCM has determined that the B.S. in Accountancy meets Missouri’s educational requirements for this pathway.

CPA licensure also requires professional experience and successful completion of the Uniform CPA Examination. Requirements are established by the Missouri State Board of Accountancy and may change over time.

Planning to complete 150 credit hours?

Some students may choose to complete 150 credit hours to reduce Missouri’s experience requirement or to prepare for licensure in another state. UCM students interested in this option should work with an academic advisor to develop an appropriate undergraduate and graduate course plan.

Planning to practice outside Missouri?

CPA licensure requirements vary by state. UCM has not determined whether the B.S. in Accountancy meets the educational requirements for licensure in every other state or territory.

Students planning to pursue licensure outside Missouri should review the current requirements for the state where they intend to practice.
