Homecoming is our largest campus and community party of the year. Alumni get excited, coming back to Warrensburg with their families and friends to reconnect with classmates and professors and to see how the University and city have changed. Students get excited, putting the spirit into one of the university’s longest-standing traditions through week-long competitions, the pep rally and parade.

 Homecoming Events

Spirit Windows

The Spirit Windows Contest consists of an organization decorating a a window in the UCM Union. The paintings should reflect the Homecoming theme. Windows are painted the week before homecoming to be displayed for two weeks.

Blood Drive

The Blood Drive is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the community to give back to others by donating blood. The Blood Drive is sponsored by the Community Blood Center out of Kansas City, MO. This is one of the biggest drive on campus so we encourage you to schedule an appointment at

The Bowling Tournament is a fun way to see who can score the highest. Teams are made up of six individuals. Bleachers are provided to watch and cheer on your team.

Donation Creation

Donation Creation is an opportunity for student organizations to show their creativity with charitable donations. Each organization will need to gather non-perishable food items to create a 3-D scene to represent this year’s UCM Homecoming theme. Creations will be judged at 3 p.m. based on their creativity, relation to the theme, and originality.

Community Service

Education for service is UCM’s motto and what better way to live up to the motto but to participate in community service. Community Service is done around campus, Warrensburg and close surrounding areas.

Sign-up to participate in Community Service.

Before the performer, the royalty top 20 are introduced. Usually, the performer is a comedian, magician or A cappella group. After the performance, the Top 10 Royalty candidates are announced.

Pep Rally & Cheer Contest

Groups compete against each other for the chance to be crowned Champions of Cheer. Come out and party with the competing organizations, the Mulekickers, cheerleaders and the Marching Mules. This event captures the true spirit of a college homecoming and gets current students, along with alumni and friends, pumped about the Mules football game the next day.

Each organization has an opportunity to have a candidate run for homecoming. Royalty candidates go through an interview process, put together an educational display and receive student votes.
