After managing Central’s financial resources for nearly 16 years, J. Marvin Bennett has retires as controller/treasurer.
Bennett had joined the university in 1980, and prior to that held positions with MFA Oil Company, University of Missouri and Clemson University.
He participated in several university, community and professional organizations. Bennett chaired the Student Accounts Receivable Task Force and was a member of the Commission of Higher Education Statewide Accounting Standards and the Resource Allocation Committee. He was also active in the Warrensburg Rotary Club and Warrensburg Saddle and Bridle Club.
Bennett takes pride in contributing to the improvement of Central’s financial systems and cash management procedures.
He and his wife Norma have four children, Jane, Keith, Joy and Lorna. Bennett plans to make him home in Ashland, farming 73 acres and caring for 10 horses.
