An individual with an outstanding teaching record, in addition to spending 16 years as campus coordinator of the Missouri Skills USA and Leadership Conference, Raymond E. Norris has retired as professor emeritus of air conditioning and refrigeration.
Mr. Norris devoted 23 years to Central and its students. He joined the faculty in 1977 and officially left his teaching post in January 2001. He served as coordinator of HVAC and environmental control systems technology programs.
He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Central. His career includes 13 years of business and industry experience, plus two years teaching vocational-technical school in the Excelsior Springs school district.
Mr. Norris points with pride to accomplishments such as assisting in the planning and construction of the T. R. Gaines Technology Complex, as well as chairing the Salary and Fringe Benefits Committee. He said he is proud to have been a part of efforts to help so many students achieve a quality education.
The longtime educator and his wife, Donna, are the parents of four children, Russell, Rita, Robyn and Ken.
