            Knowing that America’s financial future depends on well-qualified business managers, as a faculty member for 16 years, Dr. Wayne E. Nelson helped many students prepare for successful professional careers.

            Dr. Nelson joined the university in 1983 with a wealth of college teaching experience, having served previously at Lincoln Memorial University, Middle Tennessee State University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His first role at Central was serving as chair of the Department of Management, 1983-1987.

            Dr. Nelson was a prolific writer, and was actively involved in research, publishing more than 30 journal articles. He also shared his research with others through affiliations with groups such as the Academy of Management, Association for Business Communication, Southern Management Association, Ozark Economic Association, Association for Global Business, Association of College Entrepreneurs, Small Business Institute Association, and Southwestern Federation of Administrative Disciplines.

            His higher education has included a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville; Master of Business Administration degree; Memphis State University, Tennessee; and doctorate from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
