Military and Veterans Services

Welcome to the University of Central Missouri's Military and Veterans Success Center. Our mission is to support and advocate for military-affiliated students, to include veterans, active duty, guard, reservists, and military spouses and children in their transition to the university and their journey on degree completion to securing a career and successful future!

Our vision is to be the leading resource for military and VA educational related services for all military-affiliated students. The Military and Veteran Services department will provide this by:

  • A one-stop shop for students with processing VA educational benefits, military tuition assistance, and military transcripts;
  • An inviting Military and Veterans Success Center where students can go and connect with fellow students;
  • Easing the transition from military service to student life;
  • Partner and expand campus, local, base and VA resources to assist students with counseling, career services, and VA benefits;
  • Engaged and knowledgeable staff;
  • Advocating and ensuring students' voices are heard on campus by connecting with university and local community organizations.

At UCM we recognize and value your service and sacrifices that you-our service members, veterans, and dependents have made. We are committed to serving you and your family members by providing assistance in processing educational benefits, scholarship awareness, career preparation and connecting students to resources both on camps and locally. Our office goes beyond educational benefits and strives to provide as many resources to ensure academic success during your military service or through your military transition.

The center includes:

  • 12 computers with common access card readers
  • 5 free prints daily
  • Family room with a fridge, microwave and free coffee
  • Quiet study computer lab, with docking stations, dual screens, and sit-to-stand desks
  • Golf cart available for our disabled veterans
  • VA Work Study Student program
  • Workshops and employers networking events with Career Services
  • Partnerships with local Veteran Service Officers, Kansas City Vet Center, and Missouri Job Center

"The military and veteran services offered at this institution have been phenomenal and have met and exceeded all of my needs. The certifying official(s) and staff have always been helpful, friendly, and approachable, as well as providing resources and tools needed to help me succeed in my academics."
