Social Studies Education Program


A nationally accredited program, the social studies curriculum prepares the students to teach at the high school level. The program includes courses in education and the social studies content. Throughout the program, students experience real-life classroom instruction through observations, microteaching and student teaching.

The social studies program offers faculty advisement from freshman year to senior year. Advisement session is conducted by Dr. Nance and includes step-by-step progression through the education program, certification and appropriate course selection.

Scholarships, and national or regional presentation opportunities are also available.
