University policy states that if you must wear a firearm, then you must also wear your uniform. If you choose to wear civilian (or civilian type) clothing you must secure your weapon in your vehicle or one of the lockers at the range.

Missouri Safety Center Dress Code:
The Center is a formal training environment for civilians and professionals alike. All students are asked to follow our dress code which consists of attire that is typically found in a professional office environment; T-shirts, tank tops, shorts or sandals are not appropriate in class.

NOTE: You, as a certified law enforcement officer of the state of Missouri, should familiarize yourself with P.O.S.T's rules and regulations regarding required continuing education hours. As of January 1, 1996, track all all training you take from P.O.S.T. approved providers. The Missouri Safety Center is a P.O.S.T. certified training provider.

Also, you must attend Part 2 of the Type II Supervisor Course (16-hour class) for your department's instrument at another date. You will automatically be enrolled and a separate confirmation sent as soon as the date is set.

Core Curriculum: Course has a total of 36 C.E.H.'s (6 Legal Studies, 10 Technical Studies and 20 Skill Development).

All applicants of the Type II Supervisor Course must do a PRE-COURSE PREPARATION ASSIGNMENT. This assignment will be in the form of an exam. This exam MUST be completed and brought to class on day one to be reviewed and scored. A passing score of 80% is expected of all Type II applicants. The pre-exam will be sent via e-mail to you along with the confirmation for your lab date once you are enrolled.

We encourage you to bring your laptop with USB capabilities because you will receive a flash drive containing your Supervisor manual. Loaner Supervisor manual's are available for those without a laptop.

The tuition is funded by MoDOT Division of Highway Safety.

Arrangements for meals and lodging will be your responsibility. Below are lodging facilities should you need to arrange lodging accommodations. Because our classes have limited seating, and are filled on a first come first serve basis, we ask for a 48 hour notice of cancellation.
