Former UCM Board of Governors Member Walt Hicklin Memorial Service Planned

Members of the University of Central Missouri community are mourning the loss of Walter “Walt” Hicklin, a Warrensburg resident who touched the lives of many students and professional colleagues at UCM during a career that included teaching, mentoring, coaching and serving as an award-winning administrator. He passed away on Jan. 19.

Talking Mules Capture IPDA Championship While Speech and Debate Coach Honored Among First Inductees to Association's Hall of Fame

While two members of the University of Central Missouri’s Talking Mules speech and debate team contributed to honors that included a national championship, the exceptional work of their coach over many years in his field led to Hall of Fame recognition during the recent International Public Debate Association’s National Championship Tournament and Convention. The four-day event, April 8-11, was hosted by Abilene Christian University, and included nearly 350 debate competitors representing 45 different public and private colleges and universities across the nation.
