October 18, 2022The University of Central Missouri School of Visual and Performing Arts is hosting a public musical presentation about the World War II-era “Victory Vertical Piano” program by 2010 UCM Distinguished Music Alumnus Dr. Garik Pedersen at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 in Hart Recital Hall, located in the Utt Music Building. The public is invited to attend this free event co-sponsored by the UCM Department of Music and the UCM Speaker Series.
October 17, 2022WARRENSBURG, MO -- The University of Central Missouri's Computer Information Systems (CIS) program in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies on Friday, Oct. 21 will celebrate its 52nd anniversary from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new UCM-Aureus Artificial Intelligence Lab, located at the Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee's Summit. Members of the campus community and the public are invited to attend the event. University President Roger Best will conduct the ribbon cutting at 2 p.m., and there will be remarks by Abhishek Pakhira, chief operating officer at Aureus Tech Systems.

This is the highest form of recognition given to alumni at an annual ceremony sponsored by the UCM Alumni Foundation.

In addition to presenting workshops and participating in recruitment events, UCM members were honored in multiple areas of speech and theatre, including Hall of Fame recognition, during the event which continues to showcase the strength of UCM programs and their great impact on speech and theatre education in Missouri.
